INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ART AND DESIGN ADMISSION
The Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) in alliance with Kingston University offers a creative, studio-based education through its three rigorous Bachelor degree programmes in Fashion Design, Interior Architecture and Design, and Communication Design. IIAD EXAMINATION PROCESS 2019
IIAD entrance exam – also known as IIAD Design Aptitude Test – is conducted by Indian Institute of Art and Design in collaboration with Kingston School of Art to provide admission to aspirants in its undergraduate design programmes. IIAD design entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted in the second week of April, 2019.
IIAD entrance exam is a two-hour and thirty minutes written test meant to evaluate drawing and design skills, imaginative and creative expression, observation skills, communication and visual power. The admission process is such that after appearing for the written test candidates have to appear for the personal interview and portfolio assessment round. Admissions are solely on the basis of a candidate’s score in IIAD entrance exam and performance in the personal interview and portfolio assessment rounds.
COURSES & FEES IIAD
IIAD offer Bachelors degree programme in Fashion design, Interior architecture and design, and Communication Design.
Candidates who have cleared CBSE/ ISC/ IB (or any other equivalent board) Standard XII exams in any discipline meet the IIAD entrance exam eligibility criteria. Also, candidates who are awaiting their Standard XII exam results are eligible to apply for IIAD entrance exam.
Lateral Entry Admission
Candidates can also secure direct admission in the second year of design programmes on offer at IIAD. The eligibility criteria for IIAD lateral entry admissions is such that candidates need to complete the first year of their design diploma/degree programme from a national or international recognised design college. IIAD admissions 2019 under the lateral entry will be done on the basis of a candidate’s performance in personal interview and portfolio assessment rounds only.
In order to apply for admission in design courses, candidates must fill the IIAD entrance exam application form in the online or offline mode. To apply online, candidates first need to do IIAD entrance exam registration on the admissions portal of the college and then fill and submit the IIAD entrance exam application form online.
The IIAD entrance exam 2019 pattern is such that candidates are evaluated on three parameters.
Written Entrance Exam
Candidates need to appear for the written entrance exam that comprises two sections – Logical reasoning and creative thinking and Problem solving – carrying 200 marks. Candidates are assessed on observation skills, design, drawing skills, creative and imaginative expression, and visual and communication skills.
After appearing for it, candidates have to appear for a personal interview on the same day. In the personal interview round, the emphasis is given on a candidate’s confidence. Candidates are evaluated on their understanding of basic design concepts and communication skills.
The portfolio carries a considerable importance in the total evaluation at the interview stage. Include drawings/ sketches/ paintings, art collages, web design, digital design, graphic design, needle-work, three-dimensional projects sculpture and/or photography.
SYLLABUS IIAD ADMISSION
Indian Institute of Art and Design does not specify any particular IIAD entrance exam syllabus. Pursuing a grooming course with OPUS takes care of familiarizing you with the kind of questions.
Admit Card IIAD
Candidates can download IIAD entrance exam admit card once they have successfully applied for the test. IIAD entrance exam admits card will appear on the screen. Once downloaded, candidates need to take a printout of the admit card and carry it to the allotted exam centre. Candidates not carrying the admit card at the time of exam are not allowed to take the test.
Indian Institute of Art and Design declares IIAD entrance exam result in the online mode on its official website once all rounds of admissions are conducted.
