NIFT B.Des selection has two stages — a written test (CAT + GAT) and a practical Situation Test for shortlisted candidates, which together decide final admission.
Practise observational and memory drawing daily, study design theory and colour, and solve timed creative prompts — the CAT carries the highest weightage.
You build a 3D model from provided materials (paper, clay, wire, etc.). We run hands-on studio rehearsals so you're comfortable with material handling and finishing.
Not mandatory, but structured mentorship, mock CAT/GAT tests and portfolio/Situation-Test practice sharpen the exact skills NIFT rewards.
Focus on quantitative-ability, English and reasoning workbooks plus design GK. Our free NIFT kit bundles curated GAT notes.
Sketch daily from observation and memory, study perspective and colour, and get regular mentor feedback — included through the trial.
Ideally 8–12 months ahead, so you can build drawing fundamentals, cover the GAT syllabus and complete full-length mock tests before the exam.
