CLAT Admission:

CLAT 2024 is scheduled for December 18, 2022 (Sunday) in Offline Mode. Law aspirants seeking admissions to 3 years / 5 years Integrated LLB and LLM Programs in 19 NLUs and other private schools can apply online from October to November, 2022.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

The eligibility criteria for UG and PG Programmes as defined by the CLAT Core Committee are measured on the following grounds:

For UG Programme –

  1. There is no upper age limit to appear for UG Programme in CLAT 2024.
  2. The candidates must have a minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e. 10+2 or an equivalent examination) :
  1. In case of General / OBC / NRI / PIO / OCI / PWD categories, the candidate must obtain a minimum of 45% marks.
  2. In case of SC/ST categories, the candidate must secure a minimum of 40% marks.
  3. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in November 2022 are also eligible to sit for CLAT 2024 examination. However, an evidence of passing the qualifying examination is required at the time of admission.

For PG Programme –

  1. There is no upper age limit to appear for PG Programme in CLAT 2024
  2. The candidates must have a minimum percentage of marks in LLB Degree or an equivalent examination:
  3. In case of General / OBC / NRI / PIO / OCI / PWD categories, the candidate must obtain a minimum of 55% marks.
  4. In case of SC/ST categories, the candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks.
  5. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in November 2022 are also eligible to sit for CLAT 2024 examination. However, an evidence of passing the qualifying examination is required at the time of admission.

CLAT Application Form 2024 –

  • The application form is available only through online mode from the official website – clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in
  • CLAT 2024 registration will open from October 1st, 2022 to 31st November, 2022.
  • Candidate is applicable to fill only one application form.
  • Upload your scanned photograph (Dimensions: 200 X 230 pixels, Size: 20kb to 50kb), signature (Dimensions: 140 X 60 pixels, Size: 10kb to 20kb) and other required documents.
  • Candidates don’t need to send the hard copy of the application form to the CLAT Office.
  • No alteration / changes can be done after the submission of form.

CLAT Admit Card 2024

After successful registration for CLAT 2024, candidates can download their hall ticket from November 2022.(Tentative) (Carry a valid photo ID Proof along with CLAT admit card at the examination center)

Steps to download the Admit Card –

Step 1: Visit the official website of CLAT.

Step 2: Click on ‘Download Admit Card’ tab.

Step 3: Enter registered email id and password.

Step 4: Click on Login / Submit Tab.

Step 5: Check and download the admit card.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2024

CLAT was a computer based (online) test, which has been changed to offline mode from the current year (2024). Hence, CLAT 2024 will be a paper-pen based test.

  • Mode of examination: Offline (Pen-paper based)
  • Duration of the exam: 2 hours
  • Number of questions: 150
  • Maximum marks: 150
  • Types of questions: MCQ
  • Marks for the correct answer: 1
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer

The number of topics and the distribution of questions for UG Program in each of the sections are as follows –

 

CLAT Syllabus 2024 –

The CLAT 2024 syllabus of UG course comprises the following sections:

English (including comprehension) – This section will test the candidate’s proficiency in English, based on grammar and comprehension passages. Candidates will be assessed on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc., in the comprehension section.

The grammar section consists of filling the blanks with appropriate words, correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, etc.

General knowledge and current affairs – The section will be evaluated on general awareness including static general knowledge.

The candidates will be tested on their knowledge of questions of national and international current affairs.

Elementary mathematics (numerical ability) – Candidate’s aptitude of elementary mathematics (i.e. mathematics taught upto Class 10) will be tested in this section

Legal aptitude – This section tests the interest of the candidates in the study of law, problem solving ability, research aptitude and legal propositions (as described in the paper).

Logical reasoning – The purpose of this section is to test the ability of the candidate to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It may also include syllogism, analogies, sequences, etc.

CLAT Mock Test 2024

NLU will announce the CLAT 2024 Mock Test in the third week of November 2024.

Candidates can get access to the CLAT 2024 Mock Test in online mode. The mock test helps the candidate’s in knowing where they stand during the preparation stage. Candidates appearing in CLAT 2024 are advised to practice the Mock Test 2024 to get an overview of the number of questions, marks allocation with CLAT 2024 Mock Test

CLAT Answer Key 2024

As per the schedule, the answer keys for LLB and LLM Programs will be released online on July 31st, 2024 (Tentative). Provided email id and password will be required to access the Answer Keys. candidates can follow the below mentioned steps to check the answer key –

Step 1: Visit the official website of CLAT 2024

Step 2: Click on the ‘Click here to view Questions and Answer Keys’ mentioned at the right side of the page.

Step 3: A new page will appear, where a candidate needs to provide their Registered Email ID and Password. Click on the ‘Login’ tab after filling the details.

Step 4: Post that, a new window will appear in which 5 tabs will be displayed. Click on the ‘Candidate Response’ tab. In the following sheet, the candidate will be able to check the responses which they got right and wrong.

CLAT Result 2024 –

Get complete details about CLAT 2024 Result / Merit List declaration :

  • The result will be declared in the last week of August – January 2024 through online mode.
  • Candidates will need to login with email ID and password provided at the time of registration to check the result. There is no other way to check the result.
  • Candidates should download the scorecard for admission purpose.

CLAT Cut Off 2024 –

  • The cut off for the admission will be announced by the university after the announcement of the result.
  • Cut off marks will be published through online mode in the month of January 2024.
  • Candidate can get an idea of their chance of admission in different colleges and universities of India, with help of the cut off marks.

CLAT Scores 2024

CLAT 2024 scores can be defined as the marks obtained by the CLAT test takers. Candidates can also know their shortcomings in the law examination through Clat 2024 scores mentioned section wise. With the help of CLAT Score 2024, candidates would be able to analyze their overall performance in the Law Examination.

CLAT Seats and Reservation 2024

National Law Universities grant reservation of seats for SC / ST / OBC / PH and Women categories. All the NLUs have their own CLAT Reservation policies. and the criteria is primarily considered during seat allotment process or at the time of counselling.

A total number of seats offered this year is around 2175. Tabulated below is the segregation of the seats as per the category:

  • Number of ALL INDIA SEATS for the undergraduate programme in NLUs are 1308.
  • A total number of 621 seats are offered to the candidates of the state where NLU is located.
  • The number of special category seats available are 235.

 

CLAT Counselling 2024 – After the result declaration, the authority will release first indicative seat allocation list on the basis of merit-cum-preference in the first week of January 2024. The details regarding CLAT 2024 counselling process are given below:

 

  • The authority will organize a centralized counselling for admission to UG & PG Programs in participating universities.
  • The counselling will be conducted in four rounds.
  • The fee payment and exercising options will start from January 2024.
  • The seats will be allotted on the basis of merit-cum-preference, CLAT rank, order of preferences, category, number of seats, availability of seats, etc.
  • Candidates need to pay a sum of Rs. 50,000 as a counselling fee.
  • Candidates need to report to the allotted NLUs with the admission fees.

CLAT Seat Allotment 2024

CLAT 2023 seats will be alloted on the basis of merit-cum-preference. Participating NLUs reserve the right to change the total number of seats and break-up of seats as per their policy before the final allotment.

 

  • A total of 3 seat allotment lists for admission scores will be published via CLAT 2024 at clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in
  • Shortlisted candidates approximately gets a three-day long window for securing a seat in the respective NLU.
  • Candidates will need an access to their CLAT accounts for knowing which of the NLUs have been alloted to them in the first round of CLAT counselling 2024
  • The subsequent list will comprise names of finalised candidates who have deposited the counselling fees in the previous round along with the names of waitlisted candidates.
  • Candidates can either choose to lock the allotted seat or select the option for shifting.
  • Counselling fees cannot be refunded after the last date of withdrawal from CLAT 2024 admission process.
  • A requisite counselling fee of INR 50,000 has to be deposited to CLAT Office, to secure admission based on CLAT 1st Allotment List.
